About Me
My name is Stephanie Schilling and I live and work in Sacramento County. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Program Coordinator with a doctorate in Forensic Psychology, specializing in Crisis Response. I am a POST certified trainer (POST ID D01-G88). I am a Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified trainer. With over a decade of experience in mental health and public safety, I bring a unique combination of clinical expertise, community-based knowledge, and leadership skills to every role.

For five years, I served as a co-responder, partnering with law enforcement to address mental health crises in real time. I later transitioned to a supervisory role, where I now oversee the development and implementation of innovative co-response programs. My training in trauma-informed care and extensive background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and solution-focused crisis response ensures a client-centered and evidence-based approach to intervention and support.

In addition to my work in crisis response, I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and polyamorous groups. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and grief, utilizing a narrative approach complemented by an eclectic style to develop individualized, client-centered treatment plans. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and an ally, and I bring a nonjudgmental, supportive approach to working with diverse populations, including those exploring power dynamics and kink. My therapy practice prioritizes creating a safe and compassionate space for clients to heal and thrive. Through my HIPAA-compliant online therapy platform, I provide a secure and welcoming environment for both first responders and the general public to seek support, fostering resilience and well-being for all.

I specialize in creating and delivering dynamic, tailored training programs, including Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) courses, to law enforcement, mental health professionals, schools, and community organizations. My work emphasizes practical tools for de-escalation, trauma recovery, and collaborative problem-solving. Additionally, I provide expert witness testimony and comprehensive assessments for suicide, homicide, threat, and risk evaluations.

Through Schilling Crisis Consulting, I aim to bridge the gap between mental health and public safety, empowering professionals and communities with the knowledge and tools to navigate complex challenges compassionately and effectively.
